Agreement to implement the Severomuysky tunnel-2 construction project

Today, Vadim Bugaev, CEO of VostokUgol Management Company, Alexey Tsydenov, head of the government of the Republic of Buryatia, and Taras Popov, Director of the Far East Agency for Investment and Export, signed a cooperation agreement to implement the Severomuysky Tunnel – 2 Construction Project.

The event was a part of the "Investor Day" conference held in Ulan-Ude. The agreement stipulates that this investment project worth about 60 billion rubles will increase the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) cargo traffic up to 100 million tons per year and will create up to 3,000 jobs.

According to Vadim Bugaev, this project, which is of great local and national importance, will open a new era in the history of the BAM, and will also allow to fulfill the decrees of the President of Russia on the development of the Eastern-bound railways.
